The Mineral County Development Authority based in Keyser, West Virginia announces a vacancy for a Development Director to manage the daily operations of the organization and oversee the mission of the Development Authority.
Duties of the Development Director include the following:
- developing marketing programs and strategies for targeted recruitment of regional, national and international businesses;
- supporting existing business for enhanced retention;
- working with existing companies with expansion;
- travel to fulfill the responsibilities of the Economic Development Authority;
Qualifications for the position include the following:
- Bachelors Degree, or comparable training, in business administration, with an emphasis in marketing, finance and strategic planning;
- efficient use of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Quicken;
- knowledge of organization and functions of county government and West Virginia state laws and federal regulations.
- ability to oversee and direct multiple major projects.
Essential skills include the following:
- public speaking and communication skills;
- organization of public events;
- preparation and writing of major grants.
Preferred characteristics include the following:
- three or more years of experience in economic development or related experience;
- certification for Economic Developer.
Base Salary: $30,000
